Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is it really free?

Yes. The Free Digital Safety Kit (a PDF with wallet cards and a full-page sheet) costs nothing to create, download, and print. You only pay if you choose to order the Physical Safety Kit.

What's in the Physical Safety Kit?

Three durable PVC emergency cards, one durable full-page emergency sheet, and a clear clip-on bag-tag holder, printed with your details and shipped to you. Keep one card in your wallet, give one to a caregiver, put the third in the holder on the diaper bag or backpack, and keep the sheet on the fridge or in a caregiver binder. Kits aren't shipping yet.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There are no accounts or passwords, and we never ask for an email address to make a card.

Where is my child's information stored?

Only in your browser on this device. The card and the PDF are made right on your device, so our servers never receive what you type.

What does the QR code do?

If you choose, the full-page sheet gets a QR code that holds your child's details inside the code itself. It's off unless you turn it on, and your home address is never included. Scanning it with any phone camera opens a page that shows the information. Nothing is stored online, so the QR code shows what was true when you printed it. Print a new sheet when something changes.

Can I use it outside the United States?

Not yet. KiddoReady is built for the US only: phone numbers use the +1 format, and every card prints 911 and US Poison Control (1-800-222-1222). Those numbers are wrong in other countries, so please don't use the card outside the US.

Can I send the card to a caregiver's phone?

Yes. After you finish, add a QR code, then show it on your screen for a caregiver to scan, or copy and share its link. The link contains the whole card except your home address, so only send it to people you trust, and send a new one when something changes.

What should I put on the card?

Start with what a caregiver or first responder needs right away: parent phone numbers, allergies, medications, pediatrician, and preferred hospital. Care instructions and extra contacts are optional.

Who should get a copy?

Anyone who might be with your child when you are not: grandparents, babysitters, nannies, daycare, school, and coaches. Keep a wallet card yourself, put one on the diaper bag or backpack, and put the sheet on the fridge.

How do I keep it up to date?

Open the card builder on the same device and your details are still there. Edit them and print or share a new copy. Anyone who scans the QR code or opens a link sees the date the card was made, with a reminder to check with you once it's over 6 months old. A good habit is to review it after every pediatrician visit or medication change.

Five minutes now. Peace of mind for years.
